The X4L Festival offered us an unusual brief: deliver an entire festival and then take it all down by lunch time the next day! It’s not often we have to work around the needs of somebody elses wedding, but thankfully all went to plan and we de-rigged the entire site in 12 hours so the venue was able to honour its wedding booking on the same site.
This was an event for 800 people where we were asked to provide: x3 arenas, bar facilities, x20 toilets, x10 security, overnight camping facilities for all guests including glamping and tipis, car parking, all décor, inflatable games, and every piece of entertainment on the site.
As well as the pressure to construct and de-rig the site in double-quick time, the other big challenge was having to provide entertainment and teambuilding exercises for an entire company. The event was a specialised festival for all the Xercise4Less staff nationwide. As a chain of gymnasiums and fitness centres, we really had to work hard to create engaging and worthwhile challenges/games for ultra-competitive people. This was no ordinary festival with a load of DJs and a few tents – this was an altogether more demanding rationale. And it all came at a time when we had to deliver three other events the very same weekend… we still can’t quite believe we pulled it off!
The event was a massive success, we are already planning Xercise4less Festival 2017
